Bridge ​the ​Gap ​– ​SYNGAP ​Education ​and ​Research ​Foundation ​(501(c) ​3) ​is ​a ​non-profit ​organization ​whose ​mission ​is ​to ​serve, ​educate, ​and ​fund ​research ​for ​families ​coping ​with ​the ​effects ​of ​SYNGAP1 ​mutations. ​

We ​are ​hosting ​our ​Third ​Annual ​SYNGAP1 ​Golf ​Classic ​and ​Silent ​Auction ​to ​be ​held ​on ​Thursday, ​April ​4, ​2019 ​at ​the ​Blackhorse ​Golf ​Club, ​12205 ​FRY ​ROAD ​CYPRESS, ​TX ​77433 ​at ​a ​1:00 ​pm ​Shotgun ​Start. ​In ​previous ​years ​we ​have ​had ​a ​great ​turn ​out ​and ​successful ​event. ​We ​hope ​that ​you ​can ​help ​this ​year’s ​events ​also ​be ​a ​huge ​success.

Your ​generous ​contribution ​will ​be ​used ​for ​life ​changing ​programs ​that ​will ​benefit ​children ​with ​rare ​diseases. ​Our ​international ​outreach ​for ​SYNGAP1 ​children ​gathers ​critical ​information, ​which ​is ​needed ​to ​drive ​research ​towards ​more ​immediate ​therapeutic ​solutions. ​ ​

Bridge ​the ​Gap-SYNGAP ​Education ​and ​Research ​Foundation’s ​mission ​is ​to ​improve ​the ​quality ​of ​life ​for ​people ​affected ​by ​SYNGAP1 ​and ​provide ​family ​support, ​accelerating ​research ​and ​raising ​awareness ​A ​genetic ​mutation ​in ​the ​gene ​SYNGAP1 ​results ​in ​non-syndromic ​intellectual ​disability ​ranging ​from ​moderate ​to ​severe. ​Ninety-four ​percent ​of ​the ​children ​have ​epilepsy ​and ​can ​be ​associated ​with ​attention ​deficits, ​impulsivity, ​and/or ​mood ​disorders. ​SYNGAP1 ​is ​one ​of ​the ​top ​single ​gene ​mutations ​linked ​to ​autism ​worldwide. ​Every ​child ​with ​SYNGAP1 ​provides ​information ​that ​can ​guide ​us ​to ​treatments ​that ​will ​not ​only ​help ​our ​own ​patient ​population, ​but ​millions ​with ​neurodevelopmental ​disabilities. ​
